TextTone is an application for 32-bit Windows that can assist you
in creating HTML code for sections of web page text that have a
graduated colour effect. Besides looking rather cool, this kind of
effect in a web page can make for eye-catching text and great
headlines.
But just what is a graduated colour effect? Let's have an example
- the words "Colourful Stuff!", with a blue to red fade.
The first couple of characters of the text start out in blue, and
the further across the word you get, the colour of each character
will get nearer to red. Overall, the colouring of the word would go
blue, purple, red. Take a look at the text below to see how neat
this effect can look:
Colourful Stuff!
These kinds of effects generated by TextTone are accomplished
entirely using standard HTML code. No fancy techniques such as GIF
images, Java or server-side scripts are used. The advantage to this
is that no matter which browser software the person viewing the page
may be using, the coloured effect will always show.
TextTone helps you with the creation process of the HTML code by
utilising a step-by-step 'wizard' interface. This prompts you at
each step of the process as to what you need to do. Just fill in the
required information, and press the 'Next' button to go on to the
next step. If you happen to change your mind at any step, you can
always go back.

Once you have specified all the options that go to make up your
colouring effect for a particular piece of text, you have two
options for the output of the HTML code. You can either copy the
code to the Windows Clipboard and/or create a new template file for
you to work on.
With the Clipboard option, this enables you to create a coloured
piece of text and insert it into the HTML code of an existing,
pre-prepared page. You have complete control over the implementation
of the code. With the template page option, you can leave it up to
TextTone to create a complete starter web page (in any desired
folder, with whatever filename you want) featuring your piece of
coloured text. You could then use this a basis for creating a page.

However, besides the colouring effect, you can also control the
formatting of the resultant piece of text. There are options such as
font face, size and style (bold, italic, etc.) that you can set. You
can control exactly how you want your text to appear.
TextTone is freeware. This means it's free of charge. It doesn't
have limited features and doesn't timeout after a number of days -
unlike most shareware programs. It's yours to keep for nothing. So, download
TextTone now, and start livening up your web pages with a spot of
colour!
